Ing. Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo is an accomplished business executive with over twenty-six years of experience in the power sector and currently serves as Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority. He is recognised for leading cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical results in highly competitive environments, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, return on investment, and customer satisfaction.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, he held several senior leadership roles in the Volta River Authority, including Deputy Chief Executive (Engineering & Operations), Director of the Thermal Generation Strategic Business Unit, Plant Manager of the Tema Thermal Power Complex, and Project Manager for the Tema Thermal 2 Power Project. Across these roles, he made significant contributions to thermal power plant operations, and the delivery of critical emergency power infrastructure in Ghana.

Ing. Obeng-Kenzo holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and serves as a Board Member of Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG), where he contributes strategic guidance and industry expertise to support Ghana’s Nuclear Power Project.
