Bernard Kofi Ellis is a seasoned Electrical Engineer and energy sector expert with over three decades of experience in power generation, utility management, and energy sector reform in Ghana and the wider West African region. He has held several leadership roles at the Volta River Authority, culminating in his position as Deputy Chief Executive (Services), where he oversaw non-power operational functions. He also contributed to corporate governance through VRA Board and sub-committee engagements.

Mr Ellis most recently served as a Utility Management Expert with Deloitte Consulting Ghana under the USAID Power Africa West Africa Energy Programme. In this role, he led stakeholder engagements across Ghana’s power sector, delivering technical assistance, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, and transaction advisory services to enhance operational efficiency and support regional energy development.

He began his career at the Volta River Authority, working at the Akosombo Hydroelectric Power Station and Kpong Hydroelectric Power Station, where he developed strong expertise in power systems planning, development, operations and maintenance. Mr Ellis holds an MBA in Energy Management from the University of Montreal and a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. As a Board Member of Nuclear Power Ghana, he brings extensive industry knowledge, governance experience, and strategic insight to support Ghana’s Nuclear Power Project.
